Emma Weinstein is a writer and a director of new plays, films, musicals,
and interactive installations. Recent work includes Arden, an original
immersive musical based on Shakespeare’s As You Like It, and the first
workshop production of Slave Play by Jeremy O. Harris at Yale School
of Drama. Emma’s short film Candace has played numerous festivals
worldwide including the Mill Valley Film Festival, Outfest, and the
American Pavilion Emerging LGBTQ Filmmakers Showcase at the
Cannes Film Festival, where it won Best Film. Emma has written and/or
directed work for companies such as New Georges, the 52nd Street
Project, Shakespeare & Company, Glasshouse Lab, Collaboraction,
Working Theater, En Garde Arts, The Museum of Ice Cream, and the
Prototype Festival. Emma is an alumnus of the Drama League Directors
