CAREY PERLOFF has been directing and writing all over the world since completing an acclaimed 25-year tenure as Artistic Director of the American Conservatory Theater. Her epic production of A THOUSAND SPLENDID SUNS, adapted from Khaled Hosseni's best-selling novel, has played to sold out houses at A.C.T., the Old Globe in San Diego (where it won Best Production of 2018) , Seattle Rep, and across Canada-- it is currently playing at Arena Stage. Recent productions include Colm Toibin's PALE SISTER at the Gate Theater in Dublin, GHOSTS with Uma Thurman at Williamstown, PRIVATE LIVES at the Stratford Festival; her play THE FIT received its World Premiere at the San Francisco Playhouse in June 2019, and her new play BASTIANO was completed on a Fellowship at the Bogliasco Foundation.
