The performers for BUSK! are carefully selected each year to create the most dynamic and diverse line up of street entertainers possible. We are looking for unique, polished and professional circle acts, installations, music acts, fly pitch and roaming performers with experience performing on the street. If you would like to be considered please complete the following application form.

Due to the number of applicants, we are only able to contact those who are accepted. If you are not contacted for this year’s festival, please do keep in touch for future years.

Please note that we have a limited budget to contribute to travel costs, and with larger performer groups especially, we are not able to cover costs. If you are planning on being in the capi for other events, please indicate this on your application.

ABOUT BUSK! A Saratoga Event of Street Performance, Cabaret and More

BUSK will be a day-long performance event that brings its community of artists and shows in development together with the Saratoga Springs community at large.

BUSK will be spontaneous, outrageous, fun, funny and fabulous. Best of all, it’s FREE!

BUSK will be based on the idea that the sum is greater than any of the parts: by creating a panoply of performance all in one location, a new form of entertainment is created.

BUSK aims to offer something to everyone — from spectacular circus artistry to music to magic to mime to clowns to beat boxing. It will incorporate different genres and create a space for experimentation and exploration, introducing attendees to new and innovative work.

BUSK will be organized and run by Orchard Project Presents as part of the Orchard Project’s 2018 season in Saratoga Springs, in partnership with other community partners.

BUSK would take place the first Sunday in June, running from 2PM to 6PM.

BUSK will take place in Congress Park, Saratoga Springs. There will be different zones for different activities: in addition to the busking stages, there will tents with vendors.

The Orchard Project is working with acts selected on a case by case basis to determine best fees for each act. Acts will have the choice of receiving a small performance fee if they agree to donate their "hat" to the day's beneficiary, Saratoga Hospital.

BUSK will bring together more than 10 different acts, from local bands and magicians to world class performers and troupes. One central focus will be to tie the event to the Orchard Project’s core mission of supporting new voices and new work, and will include a mix of local performers, past Orchard Project artists, and current Orchard Project artists. We are looking for great talent from nearby Saratoga and as far afield as Boston and NYC. From family friendly work earlier in the day to cabaret events later in the day, the format will allow us to mix a large amount of content under one banner.

Please choose the type of act that best describes your performance
Are you local to the Saratoga region, Upstate area, etc?
Please describe your act. What is the nature of the performance, experience? How many people? Are there any props/requirements?
