The Orchard Project's new Bootcamp Initiative provides professional development workshops for artists of all types to develop skills through an intimate program with OP staff and affiliated artists and professionals.
Led by Artitsic Director Ari Edelson and guests from the OP Episodic Lab advisory group, this session covers many of the more "macro" fundamentals covered throughout the Orchard Project Episodic Lab, from what goes into a good written and verbal pitch, to understanding writers rooms, how TV development operates and more. This workshop is not equipped to work on actual pilots — you can either have already written one or just have an idea (or a few) — but will leave with a comprehensive understanding of the components of television writing.
Furthering the Orchard Project's mission to accelerate the development of the next generation of storytelling, the bootcamps allow artists to take control of their own development through sessions at the OP's office in midtown Manhattan. As many of our professional development programs are focused on building community, these online sessions also provide networking opportunities to registered participants. Bootcamps include workshop and hands on advising on materials. Each session will be offered with a maximum capacity of 20 participants. If more than 20 participants sign up, additional sessions may be opened up. If you are interested in bringing customized learning to your community, please contact Grace Parker, Associate Producer, at grace@orchardproject.com.
